Itinerary

Day 1: Australia – Saigon by Vietnam Airlines

Today you will board your flight from Melbourne/Sydney to Saigon – the flamboyant city of Vietnam. On arrival, meet and transfer to the city center for your check in. Spend your free time at leisure and overnight at hotel in Saigon.

Day 2: Saigon – Yangon by Vietnam Airlines

This morning, you will take a flight from Saigon to Yangon (Myanmar). Arrive at Yangon International Airport and welcome by our local tour guide. Transfer to your hotel for check in. Enjoy your remaining time at leisure.

Day 3: Yangon City tour

Your first day tour starts with a drive to visit the old colonial-style city center with city hall, Mahabandoola Park with Independence Monument, Strand road and Yangon Jetty. Afterwards, continue our trip travelling to Botahtaung Pagoda. The next destination will be Scott Market, is the most popular market (close on Monday & Public holiday), where you can buy everything from luxury to regular consumption goods. In the afternoon, journey to Chaukhtatgyi (Reclining Buddha) Pagoda and continue visit to Karaweik Hall Royal for a photo stop. Travel to the world renowned Shwedagon Pagoda for witness of the golden dome light up sunshine at the sunset.

Day 4: Yangon – Mandalay – Mingun – Ava – Sagaing

After savoring your breakfast at hotel, we will meet and transfer you to airport for domestic flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival, we will assist you to jetty to take a private chartered boat for a cruise over the Irrawaddy River towards the former capital of Mingun (45 minutes cruise). Travel to the gorgeous Hsinbyume Pagoda. At noon, embark on a boat trip to visit Ava (Innwa). If given enough time, we will visit Ava by horse cart (bullock cart) to Nanmyint Watch Tower, Ma Ha Aung Mye Bonza Monastery, Bagaya Monastery before continuing back by boat to Mandalay.

Day 5: Mandalay – Amarapura – Mandalay

Travel to Amarapura. Visit Mahagandayon monastery and U Bein Teak Bridge. Afterwards, journey to Bagaya Monastery. En route, visit a hand-weaving silk workshop. At noon, we will visit Mahamuni Pagoda, Shwe Inbin Monastery,the Old Palace grounds ,and Shwenandaw Monastery and end the day with sunset view from Mandalay Hill.

Day 6: Mandalay – Cruise to Bagan

After your breakfast at hotel, we will transfer to jetty to take a boat trip to Bagan. On the way, you can enjoy the view of local life along Ayeyarwaddy River. In the late afternoon, we will arrive at Bagan. Transfer to hotel before enjoy the rest of your day at leisure.

Day 7: Bagan

Option Tour Balloon start form 01 Oct 2016 – 31 Mar 2017
Early morning, the tour start for surprise discover day to see the ancient city of Bagan form above. Client’s enjoy a magnificent bird’s eye view of thousand year-old pagodas, temples and the mighty Ayeyarwaddy River with “BALLOONS OVER BAGAN’. It is a very exciting experience and clients will never forget. The Balloon is guided by gentle wind and chance to see slowly the sun rising. The balloon is guided by gentle winds and operates from 01 Oct 2016 till 31 Mar 2017 only. After that, return to hotel for free and leisure time for afternoon time.
After breakfast at hotel, we will visit colorful Naung U Market and journey to some of Bagan most famous pagodas, including Shwezigon Pagoda, a prototype of later Myanmar stupas; Gupaukgyi, a 13th century cave temple with interesting fine frescoes of scences from the jatakas, and Anada Pagoda. Later on, pay a visit to Lacquerware factory before travel to Dhammayangyi Patho. As the sunset, we will be at one of the ideal viewing sites favored by the tour guide.

Day 8: Bagan – Flight to Heho – Inle Lake

This morning we will transfer you to the airport for a domestic flight to Heho. Upon Heho and Inle Lake arrival, begin the tour sightseeing for magical Inle Lake. This day trip highlights include the fisherman rowing in the one-legged style characteristic of Inle Lake boatmen and the gardens of grass and earth floating on the surface of this shallow lake used for growing vegetables. Later on, visit the jumping cats monastery, Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda.

Day 9: Inle Lake – Indein – Heho – Flight to Yangon

After breakfast, your last day in Inle will begin with visit to Indein village. Passing NyaungOhak Monastery and follow a stair path lined up with many hundreds of wooden columns, you finally will reach the impressive ShweIndein. Enjoy hillside panoramic view over the lake area. On the way back to the boat, walk through a romantic bamboo forest at the riverside, where you may observe local people having a bath. On the way you can visit Myaynigone village and Lotus fiber weaving factory (Ann’s).After wards, we will fly back to Yangon. On arrival, transfer to Hotel for check in.

Day 10: Yangon – Saigon – Australia

After your breakfast at hotel, transfer to Yangon international airport for your departure, flight to Saigon and connect your flight home.

Visa

All visitors to Myanmar (Burma) must hold a valid passport. Passport must be valid six months beyond the returning day to the country of origin. A single entry visa should be arranged in advance to your travel. We, as your travel agent, will handle the entire visa process. Please send your passport scans to us. In return, we will email you the Visa and provide full support for any questions your might have regarding the application.

Communication

Phone Calls
You are able to make both international and domestic calls from your hotel room. Please be advised to check call charges with hotel staff or the local tour guide. The reasons are the costs could be expensive and hotel might require service charges as well.
Mobile Phones
Mobile phones are relatively popular in Myanmar, where you might find high quality coverage. Moreover, international roaming service is available, which means you can use your own mobile phone. Please ensure that you are aware of the costs and have activated your international roaming prior to your departure.
Internet & Email
One way to get internet connection is to visit internet cafes. This is usually the cheapest and easiest method. Most hotels have internet access, but charge at a slightly higher rate than internet cafes. Several hotels might have Wi-Fi which usually comes with an additional cost, and might only be available in the lobbies.

 

Tipping

Group tour
Tour tipping is an element of nowadays tourism industry, and therefore it is expected in Myanmar. Usually, the tipping is to pay for tour guides, drivers, porters and other people assisting you during the trip. Understanding that many of our customers are uncertain about the tipping amount, we will advise you on a standard tipping amount. We will be responsible for distributing the fee appropriately. If you go on a multi-country trip, the tipping amount will be distributed equally if you pay in full to us. If the tipping amount is not handled by us, the advised tipping amount will be given by you to the local tour guide.
We will show the advised tipping amounts and other essential information in your travel’s final documents.
Private tour
Tipping for private tour is not handled by us. However, tipping is appreciated and the guides and drivers normally receive them from tourists. Please be reminded that tipping is only at discretion of individual.

 

Shopping

Shopping in Myanmar can be interesting. We have included a reasonable number of visits to local stores, government factories that not only provide an opportunity to purchase a locally produced, but also great-value souvenir. Please be advised that this might vary depending on local conditions, and definitely won’t interfere with your itinerary listed sightseeing. Likewise, we ensure our visiting shop have a reputation for quality, originality and honesty. We do our best to ensure our customers won’t get ripped off.

Food

The costs of listed meals are included. We usually provide breakfast in buffet style at your stay-in hotel, where you can find both local food and Western food according to your preference. Lunches and dinners are traditional reputable restaurants’ delicacies. The food is catered to the majority to ensure they are not too spicy or taste strange.
Drinks will be at each own expense. Beer is common and cheap. Bottled water, juices & sodas are also widely available – please be advised that you should only have ice or fruit juices from a trustworthy restaurant to prevent any undesirable event during the trip. Western wines are expensive and rarely available at normal restaurant.
Black tea, green tea and coffee are widely available in most places. Black tea is usually consumed with milk and sugar in teahouses, which are important social hubs. Green tea is provided free in many restaurants Coffee is usually sold in instant form except for in a few Western-style cafes.
