Day 1: Hanoi Arrival

Today, you’ll arrive in Hanoi as per your flight time.
On arrival at the airport you’ll be met by AVG and transferred to your hotel for check-in.

Meal: In-flight meal.

Day 2: Hanoi – Halong Bay

After breakfast, you’ll travel by coach through the rich farm land of the Red River Delta to arrive at Halong Bay. Designated a World Heritage site in 1994, Halong Bay’s spectacular array of islands, dotted with wind and wave eroded grottoes, is a wonder to behold.
On arrival you board a ship to view the thousands of limestone islands and their caves of all shapes and sizes. The sails of junks and sampans gliding across the clear emerald waters of the bay form a magnificent scene. You‘ll also have the opportunity to visit some of the hidden grottoes beneath the towering cliffs.

Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 3: Halong Bay – Hanoi

Early risers may like to participate in Tai Chi on the top deck or simply relax and enjoy the sunrise over the bay’s towering islands. A sight not to be missed- especially if you are into photography. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee or tea, before setting out to explore nearby islands. Return to the junk for breakfast, then take advantage of the sundeck and admire the amazing rock formations of Halong Bay.
In the afternoon our driver will meet you at the Halong Jetty to drive you back to Hanoi.

Day 4: Hanoi City Tour – Da Nang – Hoi An

This morning, you’ll take a half day Hanoi City Tour which takes in famous landmarks such as  Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (photo stop only), a monumental edifice built to commemorate the Vietnamese Revolutionary leader); the One Pillar Pagoda (one of Vietnam’s most iconic temples); the Temple of Literature  (the first university in Vietnam) and Tran Quoc Pagoda (one of the oldest in Vietnam).  Later today we take a flight to Da Nang.

On arrival, you’ll be transferred to the UNESCO World Heritage listed town of Hoi An. Originally an important trading route during the 15th to 19th centuries, Hoi An is now a unique blend of culture, cuisine and architecture. Step back in time as you wander the narrow streets of this charming former trading port, with its ancient covered bridges and many temples.

Day 5: Hoi An

Today you can enjoy a day of leisure to explore Hoi An or join one of our optional tours.
You can choose a maximum of 2 optional tours on day 05 – one AM, and one PM.

Important note:

– Golden Bridge Tour, My Son Sanctuary and Thanh Ha Village Tour cannot be arranged on the same day

– A O Show, Hoi An Cooking Class Tour and Hoi An Memories Show cannot be arranged on the same day. Please choose one only.

Day 6: Hoi An Walking Tour + Saigon

In the morning, there’s a guided tour to explore Hoi An on foot which takes in a visit to an old merchant’s home; Hoi An Market; a local Chinese temple and the Japanese Covered Bridge – the bridge was first constructed in the 1590s by the Japanese community to link them with the Chinese quarters. Over the centuries the ornamentation has remained relatively faithful to the original Japanese design. The French flattened out the roadway for cars, but the original arched shape was restored in 1986.
After lunch, you’ll be transferred to Da Nang airport to fly to Saigon.
On arrival at Saigon airport, you’ll be met by an AVG guide and taken to check-in at your hotel.

Day 7: Saigon – Cu Chi Tunnels – City Tour

After breakfast, we set off to the Cu Chi Tunnels. During the Vietnam War, guerrilla fighters built a labyrinth of narrow tunnels, using them to hide in during bombing raids and to stage surprise attacks. Today, the remaining tunnels give visitors a unique understanding of what life was like during the Vietnam War.

In the afternoon there’s a half day tour of Ho Chi Minh City with highlights such as, Notre

Dame Cathedral, Post Office (Photo stop only), the War Remnant Museum and a chance to soak up the vibrant atmosphere at Ben Thanh market, one of Ho Chi Minh’s liveliest areas.

You may choose only 1 optional tour on day 7.

Day 8: Saigon – Cu Chi Tunnels - Saigon City Tour

Enjoy a day of leisure to explore Saigon/Ho Chi Minh City.
You may choose only 2 optional tours on day 8 – one AM, and one PM.

Note: The performance schedule is subject to change. Please check availability when requesting this option.

Note: A O Show and Dinner on the Saigon River Cruise cannot be arranged on the same day

Day 9: Saigon – Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Today you take the flight to Siem Reap.

On arrival at Siem Reap you will be met by your AVG guide and transferred to your hotel for check-in.

Day 10: Siem Reap – Angkor Temples.

Spend a full day discovering the mystical Angkor temples. It starts with a visit to the quite remarkable Angkor Wat, then we’ll visit the ancient Ta Prohm Monastery.
In the afternoon, we visit Angkor Thom (the Great City) and the famous Bayon of the 12th and 13th centuries. Then, it’s on to the Elephant Terrace and the raised Leper King Terrace, built in the 12th century and featuring many beautifully sculptured Apsaras.

Meal: Breakfast, Lunch.

Day 11: Siem Reap – Phnom Penh.

Late morning, take a 6-hour drive to Phnom Penh. The air-conditioned coach ride is comfortable and offers a glimpse of Cambodian country life, as you drive past rice paddies, traditional wooden houses, and water buffalo and cows grazing lazily beside the road. You’ll arrive at your hotel for check-in.

Day 12: Phnom Penh.

This morning, there’s a not-to-be-missed Phnom Penh city tour to The Royal PalaceSilver Pagoda, the National MuseumWat Ounalom and Central Market. You’ll see the location where international journalists camped out in 1975 on the eve of the Khmer Rouge takeover, and the burnt-out and bullet-holed building that has been left as it stood after the war.

Later on, continue on to Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, a former high school which was used as the notorious Security Prison 21 (S-21) by the Khmer Rouge regime. Then it’s on to Choeung Ek, made famous by the movie The Killing Fields, to learn about the atrocities that took place here. After this rather somber chapter on Cambodian history, to end your journey today, you will have a chance to lighten the mood and taste some Khmer snacks.

Day 13: Phnom Penh - Depart

Get ready for a flight back home.

  • Pay a 2nd installment of $1,799 per person within 30 days after deposit.
  • You will then be invoiced for final payment 90 days prior to departure.

Please note that customers must book at least 90 days prior to departure to ensure your desired travel date and time.

How to extend your stay
If you wish to do so, please follow these steps:

  1. Follow the “Book Now” prompts, until you reach the “Anything else we need to know?” field
  2. Here, please specify your preferred flight arrangements and if you require additional accommodation, with the number of nights needed.
  3. After finalizing your purchase and submitting your booking form, a member of our Reservation team will be in contact with you via email to verify your request.

Please note, a supplement of NZ$220 per person (plus any applicable fare and tax differences) applies to deviate from the standard itinerary. We will contact you via email with a quote and proposed flight itinerary, and then proceed with collecting the additional payment required to confirm your request.

The additional cost for these land arrangements will be added to your final payment invoice, due 90 days prior to departure, and is strictly subject to availability.

Important Information

A friendly reminder that tipping is not included in your package. Please be advised that tipping for tour guides, drivers and bellmen are required and will be collected by your travel consultant 7 days before you depart. A gratuity of 10NZD per person/day can make a big difference to locals employed in the tourism industry as they have done an impeccable job to serve you through your holiday.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is required to protect yourself against the unexpected.

We have partnered with SureSave to offer you competitive rates for your travel insurance. You can book comprehensive or budget cover simply to arrange your policy.

Visa & Passport information
It is the traveler’s responsibility to ensure they have a valid passport. The passport must be valid for a minimum of six months from the intended date of return and must have more than 2 blank pages.

Australian passport holder is required to have a visa for travel to Vietnam. The visa is easiest to complete with Asia Vacation group and just need to pay NZD180 for Vietnam visa single entry.

Once approved, please ensure that you travel with the following documentation as they are required to present to customs upon arrival into the country.

For Cambodia, you will obtain your visa when crossing the border from Vietnam to Cambodia. The cost of the Cambodian Visa is USD$25 per person.

Tour Documentation
Final documentation, including e-tickets and hotel details, will be provided approximately 30 days prior to travel.

Children must be 2 years old or over and share a room with parents at all times. Children are the same price as adults.

Tour Length
The total length of the tour in days includes time spent in flight and is subject to change depending on the flight schedule, please refer to the day by day itinerary for the time spent on land.



Asia Vacation Group shall not deliver a refund for any delay or change in program or expenses incurred or injury and damage due to airlines, accident, breakdown of transport and sickness.

In some cases, your chosen extra tours may be canceled by Asia Vacation Group due to force majeure you may choose to change to other alternative tour OR receive a coupon equal to the amount you paid for it. The difference in cost of the alternative tour will be paid by you or transferred to a coupon as applicable. This coupon is issued after the tour and is valid for two years. It is valid for any tour by Asia Vacation Group and cannot be redeemed for cash.

  • Customers must send us the electrical copy of passport by scanning or taking the first page of your passport. By this way, we could secure the accuracy of your personal information to make proper reservation for you.
  • The airfare is non-refundable at all times.


  • Flight itineraries will be provided only 30 days prior to departure. If you book our tour packages within 30 days, your flight itinerary will be provided within 7 days.
  • Airline schedule may change or cancel before the itinerary and it is beyond our control. We will try utmost to assist our customers, however, the customers are also responsible for reviewing your flight schedule prior to the departure. Moreover, you can contact your Travel Insurance provider to check whether you are covered by your policy.

Arriving early/Extending your trip: NZD220 per person for trip extension or early arrivals. If you wish to extend your trip, please note in your Booking Form then we will provide quotations for you. The fee above is just administrative only, no service included.
